Learning

As a specialised public health service provider with over seventy percent of the organisation comprising qualified nursing, medical and allied health professionals, Hope Healthcare actively promotes and supports a broad range of learning and research activities by all staff.

We also support relevant research projects by non-Hope Healthcare staff through the use of Hope Healthcare resources.  We conduct seminars and training activities for health professionals and support staff, as well as for health professionals in the community.  We maintain close affiliations with tertiary institutions including the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney and University of Technology Sydney.

Fostering research

Hope Healthcare fosters research through the work of our Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC).  The HREC considers the ethical implications of all proposed research projects within Hope Healthcare and determines whether or not they are acceptable on ethical grounds.

The HREC is also responsible for ensuring the scientific or applied worth of research projects conducted using Hope Healthcare resources.

For more detail on the work of the HREC, including applications to undertake research within Hope Healthcare, go to the Human Research Ethics Committee page.

Fostering learning

Hope Healthcare provides generous study leave for all staff and study assistance for staff that meet the relevant criteria.  We conduct extensive nurse education programs, Trainee Enrolled Nurse programs leading to the Endorsed Enrolled Nurse qualification, New Graduate programs for Registered Nurses, Registrar placements, clinical secondments and professional medical development activities, just to name a few.

Our Staff Development Coordinators are post-graduates in adult learning and they conduct regular training seminars and learning activities for health professionals, managers and support staff.  These activities are one part of our commitment to improving the quality of our specialised clinical services, managerial competencies, and upskilling support services staff throughout Hope Healthcare.

Regular training seminars and activities for health professionals and others outside Hope Healthcare covering areas related to our specialised core services are also organised by Hope Healthcare.
